Bio

Since 2006, Yasir Al Muqbel has been the Director of the Public Opinion Studies at Dubai Consultancy, Research and Media Center (B’huth).

From 1994-2006, Al Muqbel joined the Dept. of Economic Development, Government of Dubai, as Economic Expert, supervised the implementation of the statistics system for Dubai. Al Muqbel has participated in developing the initiatives and feasibility studies of mega projects in Dubai`s economy. In addition to that, he contributed in the Dubai Development Strategic Plan, especially on Macro Growth scenarios and Development Quantitative Scenarios, He has participated in the Dubai Economy in World Competitiveness Study 2005 ‘ IMD project, and he headed the investment teams at Algeria as Project coordinator between Dubai Government and Algerian Government.

From 1989-1994, Al Muqbel worked with United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Saudi Arabia as an Economic Expert advising the Government in different aspects.

In his professional capacity, Al Muqbel has received numerous honours and recognition certificates and professional association memberships. He has been chosen as the Best Employee for the year 1999 (Consultancy Position) Dubai Government Excellence Program, he is a Fellow at Royal Statistical Society (UK), Member in ESOMAR (European Society for Opinion and Marketing Research) , AAPOR (American Association for Public Opinion Research) and WAPOR (World Association for Public Opinion Research).

Al Muqbel is a member of the Jury committee for Dubai Quality Award & Dubai Human Development Award DHDA (Emiratization Scheme) and one of the founders of the Award.
